This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Bella Zaporozhets who was born in Moscow on August 6, 1948 and passed away on August 20, 2006, just two weeks after her 58th birthday.
To know her was to love her. She knew how to brighten a room and had an infectious smile. Her name must have been sent directly from above for He knew just how much of a beautiful person she was going to be.
Bella grew up in Moscow and as a young woman moved to Siberia to work. It was here where she met and fell in love with a handsome young man from Ukraine. She and Valery would marry and move to Moscow and on October 22, 1970 had their only child, Dennis.
In 1981 the family of three moved to New York and began a life a new. With all their family and friends back in USSR they leaned on each other and after years of hard work and determination built a successful business. However, she considered her greatest achievement to be her son.
Bella's younger brother Lenny moved his wife and two small children to New York in 1992. This brought so much comfort and joy to Bella. She developed a tight bond with her sister-in-law Natasha and was a doting aunt to her niece Natasha and nephew Dennis.
Bella and Valery made many friends over the years and some were considered as family. Beautiful memories were made, as they took vacations, celebrated special events and even supported each other during trying times.
It was these loved ones who held Bella's hand and encouraged her to fight the good fight during her relentless five-year battle with breast cancer. It was also these loved ones who painfully recognized when it was time to let her go and stood by her, held her hand and caressed her face in those last hours.
The family would like to thank all of those who attended Bella's funeral and for the out pouring of support from all who sent flowers, food, cards and gifts. Your outreach helped comfort our grief by showing how many lives Bella touched. We want to say a special thank you to Father Gregory for all of his help and words of encouragement. He was our guiding light through our darkest days. Everyone is welcomed to light a candle, share pictures & stories, or offer condolecenses to the family while we honor the memory of a special lady that touched so many. We will never forget her for she will live on in our hearts & memories.
A Poem For Bella by Jackie Walp (Jessica's mom)
When the Creator of all living things, Strolls around his garden, In the new morning dawn, He counts his many blessings.
His beautiful Angels, The loving souls of his many children, His wonderful creatures of nature, His amazing flowers, sunshine and rain!
There is a new flower in his garden lair, Just beyond the garden gate. Resting in peace and glory, most of all His loving embrace.
The Angels were singing, At the second she arrived. The trumpet and drum did proclaim Welcome"Dearest Bella" To the Creator's garden, Of everlasting life.
When times get hard For those left behind, Look to the East every morning In a new dawn's light.
She is there, Waiting for you, Just beyond the garden gate.
Our Love and Prayers Always, Jackie & Doug Walp
I found a picture of this Poem that Bella had taken. It must have touched her heart and I wanted to share it with you. A Prayer for Humanity
I Am That I Am DEAR GOD please open my heart...
DEAR GOD please open my Body and let Your Spirit touch me and heal me...
DEAR GOD please show me the way to Love and Give more of myself...
DEAR GOD please give me your Peace...
DEAR GOD show me the way to do your will...
Thank you GOD.
Christmas In Heaven ~ by Wanda Bencke
I see the countless CHRISTMAS TREES around the world below with tiny lights like HEAVEN’S STARS reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so SPECTACULAR please wipe away that tear for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year.
I hear the many CHRISTMAS SONGS that people hold so dear but the SOUND OF MUSIC can't compare with the CHRISTMAS CHOIR up here.
I have no words to tell you of the JOY their voices bring for it is beyond description to HEAR THE ANGELS SING.
I know HOW MUCH YOU MISS ME, I see the pain inside your heart for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year.
I can't tell you of the SPLENDOR or the PEACE here in this place Can you just imagine CHRISTMAS WITH OUR SAVIOR face to face
I'll ask him to LIFT YOUR SPIRIT as I tell him of your love so then PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER as you lift your eyes above.
Please let your HEARTS BE JOYFUL and let your SPIRIT SING for I am spending CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN and I’m walking WITH THE KING.

In addition, 1,600 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 400 will die this year. If detected early, the five-year survival rate exceeds 95%. Mammograms are among the best early detection methods, yet 13 million U.S. women 40 years of age or older have never had a mammogram.
